Review : This is exactly the type of amp we wanted. We had an older system that had issues and we definitely needed to update. I researched the web to try to find amp to go with the set of speakers we had. We wanted something of good quality that wasn't too costly. After reading all the mixed reviews, I decided to just order it and see for myself. Wow! This amp does the job and then some. Our current system consists of 2 Sears Performance speakers (unknown year) model# 14394268350 series. They have 8-inch woofers (8 ohm), 3- inch mid-range and 2- inch tweeters. Our stereo 'equipment' consists of the amp, 2 speakers, an RCA turntable and a portable CD player. It is cost efficient, and doesn't take up much space. The CD player is plugged into the amp and the sound is great. One big advantage to this amp is the USB port. We have listened to CDs through the player over it and it works great. But most of our 'listening pleasure' comes from the flash drive that is plugged into the USB port. It provides hours of uninterrupted music (depending on the amount of mp3s on your drive). We haven't played the computer or TV over it yet, but I have no doubt that it will sound great as well. I want to state that using these speakers, we are able to turn the amp to full volume with NO distortion. There were a few reviewers who said they had issues with sound quality when the volume is increased. I would suggest that you get a decent set of newer (80's up) speakers that are bigger than those small things that come with those compact all-in-one type of stereos. Also we had initially thought that maybe we would use 4 speakers for a clearer louder sound. We found that the 2 extra speakers did not make it louder, or clearer. The sound is great with just 2 speakers.
